Manitou explore le mystere de l'election d'Israel. Si la motivation divine etait Rahamim (emotion), cela introduirait un dualisme et une preference selective. Or la volonte (Ratson) est universelle. Le mystere fondamental est : pourquoi Israel ? C'est un saut que l'on ne peut qu'expliquer a posteriori. Les deux sont vrais : Dieu est universel, et pourtant il a choisi Israel.
