Rav Kook's original approach to the Akeidah: God's command was given at the first moment, but Abraham's understanding develops progressively over three days. The trial is not about God changing His mind but about Abraham's prophetic sanctification reaching deeper levels. On the third day Abraham sees the place — this is a new level of prophecy. The angel stopping Abraham is not God retracting but Abraham reaching the ultimate understanding of God's true will. The clarification is internal to Abraham.
