Messiah en

Discussion on different approaches to the Messiah among Jewish groups. Every tzaddik has an aspect of Messiah, not only Joseph and Judah — every community, yeshiva, and family has its messianic dimension. The Hasidim identify the Messiah with the Tzaddik, while the Mitnagdim await the Messiah as a divine initiative from above. The lecture also touches on the punishment of the nations for persecuting Israel and the distinction between the children of Leah (Land of Israel) and Rachel (exile).
